Hello It's best to contact the github support. Also in Billing Settings, you need to complete the address. Github requires this for copilot, even for free student plans. You don’t need to add a credit card, but the name and address fields must be filled out. Cheking github changelog could help you to see real‑time updates. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
My GitHub Student Developer Pack was recently approved and verified (active until May 16, 2028). However, my GitHub Copilot access is stuck on the standard "Free" tier with monthly usage limits for code completions and chat messages, rather than the unlimited student access.
What I have checked so far:
My Education Benefits page confirms my student coupon is applied and active.
I clicked the direct link to redeem Copilot from the benefits dashboard.
I have tried signing out and back into my IDE.
I noticed the alert mentioning that "New sign-ups for GitHub Copilot Pro, Pro+, and Student plans are paused." >
Could you confirm if my account is stuck on the Free tier because of this current pause? If so, is there an estimated timeline for when student activations will resume? If the pause does not apply to already-verified education accounts, could someone help manually sync my license?
Thank you!
