It would be nice if there were a built in one click option to open a repo in a preconfigured Codespace with a desktop environment without having to create a devcontainer.json and Dockerfile and configure it manually using something like desktop-lite.

Use https://github.inkcoo.com/qemus/qemu and install Mesa or another software GPU so it's usable.

I agree this would be a really useful feature, especially for projects that need a GUI or desktop workflow. Right now the closest option is using desktop-lite or creating a custom devcontainer.json, but that adds a lot of setup overhead for something many users probably expect to be built in already.

A native “Open in Desktop Codespace” option could help us with:

1. GUI-based development tools
2. Electron app testing
3. Browser automation/testing
